Software Developer @ Transax: PHP, Laravel, Vue, AWS

Location: Anywhere (Remote First!)
Type: Full-Time

Hey there, Future Code Wizard 🧙‍♂️✨!

Transax is on the hunt for a software developer who's ready to dive into the digital trenches with a stack that's as cool as it gets: PHP, Laravel, Vue, and AWS. If you speak these languages not just fluently but with a flair that could light up the Northern Lights, then, buddy, you're in the right place!

What's Transax, you ask?
We're the digital alchemists turning the lead of today's tech challenges into the gold of tomorrow's solutions. Our team is remote-first, meaning we're scattered across the globe like stars in the night sky, connected by our passion for innovation and an internet connection that doesn't quit.

What You'll Bring to the Table:

  • PHP Mastery: You've ridden the elephant (PHP's mascot, get it?) and lived to tell the tale. You know PHP like the back of your hand.
  • Laravel Lore: You weave Laravel magic so potent it could turn a simple webpage into a web experience.
  • Vue Vision: With Vue.js, you craft UIs so seamless they make users weep tears of joy.
  • AWS Adventurer: You navigate the vast landscapes of AWS like it's your backyard, deploying and scaling with the grace of a cloud-born eagle.
  • A Hip Vibe: You're not just about the code; you're about the culture. You're ready to bring your unique vibe to a team that values diversity, creativity, and a touch of quirkiness.

Why You'll Love Working at Transax:

  • Flexibility: Work from anywhere. We mean it. As long as you've got Wi-Fi and can align a bit with the team's timezone needs, you're golden.
  • Culture: We're as much about creating a supportive and inspiring work environment as we are about developing top-notch tech.
  • Innovation: Regular hackathons, team meet-ups (both virtual and IRL), and a budget for learning materials so you can keep your skills as sharp as a tack.
  • Perks: Competitive salary, unlimited vacation policy (really!), and hardware/software support to set up your home office.

How to Apply:
Hit us up with your resume, a link to your GitHub (or other repositories of your code magic), and a short blurb about the coolest project you've worked on. Bonus points if you include a meme or GIF that best represents your developer journey!

Ready to make the digital world a better place, one line of code at a time? Apply now and let's chat!

M
Frontend Developer

Megaverse

🤑 $30K - $70K / year full time

🔭Who are we looking for?

We're looking for an experienced front-end developer to join our small team of passionate people. You should feel comfortable working with modern technologies like TailwindCSS and Vue.js (or React / Angular while being ready to quickly learn 😉).

If you are curious, you can already check out our (mostly) full technology stack here.

We love trying new stuff and often introduce exciting shiny cutting-edge technologies! You should be eager to learn and improve, not only as a developer but also as a person.

If you are aspiring to expand your horizon and become a full-stack developer, we can definitely help you with that! Bonus points for already being good at DevOps (Linux, Docker, CircleCI, etc.).

Last but not least - you need to be a good communicator. We're a small team working remotely, so excellent communication is key to success. We love hearing opinions and suggestions! In our company your opinion matters and you will have a significant impact on the direction of the project, both on the technology and business levels.

🌍 Who are we?

Megaverse is an early-stage startup, focused on creating software for the Adult entertainment industry. We are 100% remote with people across many time zones. We are bootstrapped & profitable.

🧠Your Mindset

  • Self-improvement: You want to grow your skills and grow as a person. You seek ways to do things more efficiently.
  • Problem-solving attitude: Problems are opportunities. You see problems as challenging and have the urge to solve them. There is no problem in the world you cannot solve!
  • Proactive attitude: It's not easy to work remotely. If you are having issues we expect you to be proactive about it and speak up.
  • Independent: Since we are 100% remote this means that you need to be able to reach your goals independently. It would be best if you were self-aware and self-managed.
  • Quality first: You value quality code! If you find yourself writing things twice you automatically refactor them. You find code reviews valuable (an opportunity to learn) instead of annoying.
  • Passion: Coding is your passion, not just a job. You love to write good code and get great satisfaction from it.

🛠️ What will I be working on?

We are building an online platform enabling adult industry workers (18+) to monetize their content in a different way - based on the 1-1 connection with members of their audience.

You will not be limited to this project, we will be building many different things! Be sure to check out our Launchpad vision.

📜Our Offer

  • Remote work: Time is valuable, why would you spend time commuting? We believe in choosing our own working hours. Flexibility is needed in a world that gets more complex day by day.
  • Company retreat: Be prepared to travel twice a year for a team-building get-together with the Megaverse Team. This is to put names on the faces of all your internet superhero colleagues! If you are curious about how that looks, check a short video from our trip to Malaga.
  • Supported tools to help you grow: We will ensure you get all the tools needed to grow and get things done.
  • Salary: Is competitive in the industry and can be adjusted to your skillset.
  • Time off: You get 35 paid days off / year (this includes public holidays)

🙋How to Apply?

Send an email to dawid.janik@megaverse.be containing the following details:

  • A personal introduction.
  • Listed experience working remotely.
  • Attached CV describing your previous work.
  • Salary Expectation (we are working with monthly fixed rates).
  • Any personal projects or code contributions you'd like us to see?

We are only hiring people in Europe.

    Web Developer

    Actual Size

Actual Size is looking for a local (Pittsburgh) or remote full-stack JS/React/Node.JS web developer, with enough WordPress/PHP experience to be dangerous.

You’d be helping us with a major education platform teaching middle and high school students about journalism and misinformation. It’s a large project, being built in React, Next.js, Typescript, and GraphQL, with significant complexity on the front-end (lesson videos, graphics, interactives) and back-end (user management, state machines, serverless GraphQL). You’ll also help us build things like: microsites for advocacy campaigns, full-size websites for large industry organizations, and mobile quiz apps for international audiences.

You’ll have the opportunity to work with a group of creative, experienced, and design-focused individuals who are committed to building meaningful products and communicating important messages. You will jump in and take ownership over projects and execute complex features with our support. You will grow as a developer and expand your skills in a collaborative environment.

    Your Responsibilities

    • Work closely with designers and other front-end and back-end developers to bring digital projects and experiences to life.
    • Build new projects from scratch.
    • Address incoming issues and feature requests on existing and legacy projects.
    • Optimize sites/applications for responsiveness and speed.
    • Ensure projects meet established accessibility guidelines.
    • Build reusable code and libraries for use now and in the future.
    • Document code in-line and through READMEs and Wikis.
    • Participate in code reviews and provide thoughtful & constructive feedback to other team members.
    • Mentor junior developers and help grow the development team

    About You

    • Great at documentation — all your code is thoroughly commented and you make it easy for other developers to jump in when needed. You always make sure your code and instruction works before handing it off. You ❤️ READMEs.
    • Excellent communicator — you can’t live without Slack, but you’re also happy to jump on a call every once in a while. When issues arise, you flag them early and ask for help. If you’ve worked on a distributed, partially-remote development team before, that’s a plus!
    • Passionate about mentorship — you want to learn and grow as a developer, and you love passing along what you know. You’ve worked with new programmers, learners, or folks more junior than you, and you take pride in helping them solve problems while allowing them to learn and take ownership over their projects.
    • Craftsman — you take great pride in the quality of your work and appreciate the art and elegance of well-written code. Ensuring your workflows are efficient and magical is a pastime, and you’ve spent an embarrassing amount of hours styling your terminal. You keep up to date on modern tools, practices, and news in and around the web development world.
    • Team player & solo artist — you’re equally happy working on a team as you are on your own. You don’t take constructive criticism personally, and are always trying to learn and grow. You can break large tasks apart into smaller ones, and pace yourself to complete them.
    • Skillful — you’re experienced with a lot of the following: JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Node.js, WordPress, Laravel, Gatsby, Styled Components/Emotion, CSS, APIs, GraphQL, HTML Canvas, Lottie, Konva/P5.js/Anime/React Spring/Framer Motion, Three.js, CI/CD, Sketch/Illustrator, GCP/AWS/Heroku/DigitalOcean, Docker.

    Experience Recommendations

    • 3 to 5 years of experience in writing code to solve creative problems
    • Bachelor’s degree in related field or training from a bootcamp-type program

We will do everything we can within reason to make sure that your interview takes place in an environment that fairly and accurately assesses your skills. If you need assistance or accommodation, please communicate this directly with the person scheduling your interview.

We work hard to maintain a safe and accessible in-office working environment at Actual Size that adheres to industry best practices, and as such are requiring all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and have received any booster doses as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Senior Leadership maintains open communication with each member of their team regarding accommodating remote work needs, while ensuring clear communication to support our collaborative work flow.

A Note about Qualifications and Experience

It is an unfortunate but obvious fact that women and BIPOC people are under-represented in the digital landscape. It is also a fact that people from under-represented groups tend not to apply for jobs unless they meet or exceed 100% of the qualifications. For that reason, women, BIPOC people, and other people who are under-represented in tech are encouraged to submit an application even if they do not meet all of the qualifications and experience recommendations. We’re incredibly excited to hear from you.
